Enroll in JFT-A2 Japanese Today!
While the difficulty level is similar to the JLPT N4, the JFT-A2 is much more practical. While the JLPT might ask you about a story in a textbook, the JFT will ask you to read a real-life flyer for a garbage collection day or a “Sold Out” sign at a bakery.
What You’ll Learn in JFT-A2:
The Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese (JFT-Basic) at the A2 level is designed to measure whether you have the language proficiency to communicate in daily life situations in Japan. It is the primary alternative to the JLPT N4 for those applying for the “Specified Skilled Worker” (Tokutei Ginou) visa.
Core Language Competencies
- Vocabulary: You’ll learn roughly 1,500 words covering topics like shopping, public transport, workplace safety, and health.

- Grammar: Mastering basic sentence structures, including:
- Expressing desires (~tai desu).

- Experience (~ta koto ga arimasu).
